Original Member Of Jackson 5 Pop Group Tito Jackson Dies At 70
One of the original members of the American music group, the Jackson 5, Tito Jackson, has died at the age of 70.
Multiple American media reports announced his death early on Monday morning, September 16, 2024.
No official cause of death has been reported. But Steve Manning, a long-time friend of the Jackson family and an ex-Jackson family manager, told Entertainment Tonight that Tito Jackson died on Monday, September 16, 2024.
Tito’s three children namely Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson, confirmed his death in a statement on Instagram.
They said: “We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being.”
They added that “He will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us’. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is ‘Love One Another’. We love you pops”.
The Jackson 5 group was created in 1964, with Tito Jackson playing the guitar and providing backing vocals.
Jackson 5 has since its formation sold over 150 million records worldwide.
