On July 18, 2025, Arsenal officially announced the signing of 23-year-old English forward Noni Madueke from Chelsea for an initial £48.5 million, with the potential to exceed £50 million through performance-related add-ons. Madueke, who left Chelsea’s squad at the Club World Cup in the United States before their 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the final, has signed a five-year contract with the Gunners and will wear the No. 20 jersey for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
In his first interview as an Arsenal player, Madueke revealed his motivation for the move, stating, “To win all the competitions we’re in, I feel like we’re definitely capable of doing that. And also to help the team in every way I can and grow as a player, but also as a person.” He expressed his excitement on Instagram, writing, “Humbled and blessed to be here. Thank you to everyone that made this possible. I can’t wait to get on the pitch and start to repay the faith shown in me. It’s going to be so special.”
Madueke, who joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for £30 million, made 92 appearances and scored 20 goals, playing a key role in their UEFA Conference League victory last season. His move to Arsenal marks a new chapter as he aims to contribute to the club’s ambitions under Mikel Arteta and continue his development both on and off the pitch.
