A Nigerian man from Gombe State, identified as Musa Elshaarawy, has drawn widespread attention on social media after marrying his cousin, his uncle’s daughter with whom he says he shared a close family bond from childhood.
The story first gained traction after Musa announced his wedding plans online, reflecting on a photograph taken in 2011 that showed the two together as children. According to his account, he was 12 years old at the time, while she was just over two years old. He recalled helping to care for her during family visits and described a strong, affectionate bond typical within close-knit families.
In a message shared ahead of the wedding, Musa explained that he often looked after her, carried her around, and even saved small amounts of money from school transport to buy her snacks. He identified his wife as Khadeejerh and expressed gratitude as their wedding date approached, thanking God for the journey that led to their union.
On Saturday, January 24, Musa confirmed that the marriage ceremony had taken place, sharing wedding photos on Facebook. In his post, he wrote that the child he once helped care for had become his life partner, offering prayers for a lasting and blessed marriage.
