Nigerian Senator and husband of Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, Ned Nwoko, has defended polygamy, saying in an interview that he feels sorry for men who marry one wife.
Speaking in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Sunday, October 26, 2025, Nwoko said he feels “sorry for men with just one wife.”
According to him, polygamy gives men more “stability and balance.”
Asked how he’s able to manage four wives, Ned Nwoko retorted: “That’s a different topic for another day. But yes, every man should do that. Imagine telling you to stand on one leg – it’s difficult. But when you stand on two, three, or four, you’re more balanced. That’s the example I give. I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”
When he asked further whether he had any regrets about marrying multiple women, he said “No, I don’t have any regret. I would do the same thing again. That’s the way it should be – you should marry who you want to marry.”
Ned Nwoko, the Delta North Senator was also asked about his ongoing marital crisis with Regina Daniels.
He denied abusing Regina Daniels. “Come on, you know I’m not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love my kids”, he says while denying the allegations of domestic violence leveled against him recently by Regina Daniels.
