The Commissioner of Imo State Police Command in Nigeria, CP Aboki Danjuma, has asked for an investigation to be conducted into an alleged abuse of an elderly woman by six men as captured in a video that has since gone viral.

The video available to Africa Publicity shows the woman being physically abused in a compound house in the state.

Police identified the woman as 55-year-old Agu Ndididamaka.

A statement released by the Imo State Police Command and signed by its Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police, Henry Okoye, says the X-Squad Unit of the Police Command has taken steps to identify, arrest and bring all six men involved in the alleged assault to face justice without delay.

The statement identified the six men as Osuji Chiazor, Agu Azubike, Njoku Onyedikachi, Njoku Eugene, Njoku Dikachi, Njoku Emmanuel, and Iwuala Chukwuma.

According to the statement, the suspects assaulted the woman because she cooperated with police officers who had earlier visited the community for investigative purposes.
