Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expelled former Rivers State Governor and current Minister for the country’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, one of its factional party chairmen Samuel Anyanwu, and ex-Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose.

The three politicians were expelled from the PDP over what the party termed as anti-party activities.

The expulsion motion was unanimously approved at the PDP National Convention in Ibadan on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The motion was moved by party founding member Chief Bode George and seconded by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.

Others expelled include the party’s National Legal Adviser Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Umar Bature, AbdulRahman Mohammed, Mao Chuambuwa, George Turner, Austin Nwachukwu, Abraham Ammah, and Dan Orbih.
