The Ogun State Police Command has launched an internal investigation following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing the controversial artist Portable being assaulted while in police custody.
The video, which has sparked widespread outrage on social media platforms, particularly X, depicts the “Zazu” crooner handcuffed, shirtless, and in a state of distress, tearfully pleading with unseen individuals in what appears to be a police holding area.

Police Public Relations Officer DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed that Portable is currently in detention but was quick to condemn the actions seen in the footage.
“Yes, he was arrested, and he is with us, but that is a different issue. What is important is the assault that was happening at the station. We don’t condone it,” Babaseyi told Vanguard.
The DSP emphasized that recording or publicly shaming suspects is strictly prohibited under police regulations, as it compromises both the safety of the individual and the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
