Spanish player, Nico Williams’ Barcelona deal has once again failed to materialize, as he has signed a new long-term contract with his current team, Athletic Club de Bilbao.
His new contract with Bilbao which he just signed, will see him stay at the club until June 30, 2035.
According to reports, his new agreement with Bilbao includes new release clause stands at €80 million to €90 million, representing +50% compared to €58 million on his previous contract.
The new deal also comes with an increment in Nico Williams’ salary, making him one of the highest-paid players at the Club which his brother Inaki Williams also play for.
Nico Williams has always been a priority signing for Barcelona for months but the deal has just not been successful.
After signing his new deal with Athletic Club, Nico says “I decided with my heart. I’m where I want to be, at my home”.
