Namibia’s Ministry of Health and Social Services has declared an outbreak of mpox in the coastal city of Swakopmund.
In an official statement posted on Facebook on Sunday, the ministry announced that surveillance, contact tracing, and rapid response teams have been activated to contain the spread of the disease.
Health authorities urged the public to remain vigilant, report suspected cases promptly, and adhere to preventive measures as efforts to control the outbreak intensify.
