Nigerian actor and skit maker Debo ‘Mr Macaroni’ Adedayo takes on the role of a police officer in the critically acclaimed film Freedom Way, written and produced by Blessing Uzzi under Bluhouse Studios. Directed by Olalekan Afolabi in his feature debut, the film delves into the impact of unstable policies on Nigerian youth, addressing social issues like police injustice and systemic failures.
Mr Macaroni emphasized the film’s relevance to Nigerian society, stating, “What was most endearing was the way we all connect, and the way every action and inaction affects the next person. I want people to feel and understand there should be consequences for their actions.” The star-studded cast includes Femi Jacobs, Bimbo Akintola, Ogranya Jable Osai, Meg Otanwa, Mike Afolarin, Jesse Suntele, Taye Arimoro, Akin Lewis, Teniola Aladese, and Tiwalola Adebola-Walter.
Freedom Way garnered significant recognition at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), winning Best Film and Best Writing for Uzzi, with nominations for Best Sound Design, Best Music, and Best Supporting Actor for Jacobs. Produced by Bluhouse Studios, founded by Uzzi in 2021, the film reflects the studio’s growing reputation for bold, high-impact storytelling. Bluhouse has also produced music videos for artists like Davido, Cobhams, Broda Shaggi, Zlatan, Chike, and Waje, and collaborated with brands such as 1xBet, Bet9ja, Infinix, Tecno, and Bigi.
