Controversy in the Lead-Up
The crowning of Bosch follows a period of controversy in the lead-up to the pageant. Just a few weeks prior, on November 4, a viral livestream showed pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil scolding Bosch for allegedly refusing to participate in a photo shoot meant for contestants to share on social media.
Despite denying the claims, Itsaragrisil continued to chastise Bosch, prompting several other contestants to follow her out of the room as she left.
Last year’s winner, Victoria Kjær Theilvig (who became the first-ever Danish winner of the Miss Universe pageant at the 73rd edition), passed the title to Bosch. The competition continues its legacy as one of the world’s most watched and high-profile beauty pageants.
