Men Who Can’t Provide for Their Families Have No Right to Intimacy – Kanayo

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo has openly criticized men who fail to take financial responsibility for their families, stressing that they have no moral grounds to demand intimacy from their wives.

In a candid Instagram post on Sunday, the 62-year-old actor emphasized the importance of men fulfilling their roles as providers. He highlighted that men are expected to care for their households through hard work, not just because society expects it but because it is a moral obligation grounded in religious teachings.

Kanayo noted, “Every man has a responsibility to his family. As we read in the holy books, a man who does not provide for his family is worse than.”

The actor further expressed his concern over a growing trend where men fail to meet their financial obligations, leaving women to bear the brunt of household expenses. He warned that shielding husbands from financial accountability could encourage laziness and irresponsibility.

He urged young women to be mindful when choosing their life partners, advising them to select men who understand their obligations. “I woke up to a trend that I found disturbing. It is useless and dangerous — a man depends on a man to feed him. The most disturbing part is that women want to defend their husbands so that whatever is happening in their homes does not go out,” he said.

Kanayo shared his frustration with men who neglect basic responsibilities, even when it involves matters like maintaining their wives’ vehicles. He recounted, “I have a personal experience of somebody who, even if the car of the wife goes bad, pretends he does not know.”

Addressing young women, Kanayo emphasized the importance of choosing responsible partners who understand the weight of their duties as men. He warned that failure to take on these responsibilities places undue pressure on women, particularly when it comes to managing household expenses such as school fees for their children.

In his closing remarks, the veteran actor stressed that every man must be hardworking and responsible to maintain a healthy household. “There is a need for every man to be hardworking,” he added.
