Manchester United have confirmed Matheus Cunha as their first summer signing for the 2025/26 season, securing the Brazilian forward from Wolves on a five-year contract until 2030. The transfer, pending visa and registration, follows United’s agreement to meet Cunha’s £62.5m release clause, with payments structured over two years, marking Wolves’ record sale.
Cunha, who joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2022 for £34m, scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 33 Premier League appearances during the 2024/25 season. The signing is the first under manager Ruben Amorim, who aims to revive a United squad that finished 15th in the Premier League, their lowest position in over 50 years.
Fans hope Cunha’s arrival will spark a resurgence for Manchester United in the upcoming season.
