A Nigerian man, Sankey Oyemureye, who allegedly killed his six-year-old daughter by smashing her head on the wall several times, is now on the run and being hunted by police.
The little girl allegedly killed has been identified as Abigail Stanley.
The incident is said to have happened on Saturday, June 15 and was reported by the brother of the murder suspect.
Nigerian police officers in Delta upon hearing of the incident, launched a manhunt for the suspect who as at the time of filing this report was said to be on the run.
Police on receipt of the complaint detailed officers who went to the scene at Uviama New Layout, Agbarho Ughelli North Local Government Area (LGA). The law enforcement officers accordingly recovered the body of little Abigail and deposited it at a mortuary as they hunt her ‘murderous’ father.
Superintendent of Police, Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, noted that Abigail’s father who is the principal suspect was at large.
He described the killing as barbaric, saying the Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, was saddened by the killing and has ordered a serious manhunt for the killer father.
