In a significant move to ensure a seamless transition of power, President-elect John Dramani Mahama has appointed a 10-member team to steer Ghana’s presidential handover process. This development comes in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845).
The appointed members of the Joint Transition Team include:
Julius Debrah – Co-Chairperson
Johnson Asiedu Nketia – Member
Fifi Fiavi Kwetey – Member
Dr. Callistus Mahama – Member/Secretary to the Transition Team
Dr. Valerie Sawyer – Member
Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi* – Member
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson – Member
Mahama Ayariga – Member
Goosie Tanoh– Member
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Member
Additionally, former Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho has been nominated as a member of the transitional Advisory Council ¹.
The transition team will work closely with representatives of the outgoing government to ensure a smooth transfer of power to the incoming administration. This move is seen as a crucial step in maintaining stability and continuity in Ghana’s governance.
