Libya’s Zueitina Oil Company has successfully contained a minor leak on a 16-inch pipeline linking the Sabah and Zella oilfields, the state-run National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Monday.
According to the NOC, technical teams promptly repaired the affected section without any environmental damage or harm to nearby agricultural areas. “The leak site was repaired without recording any environmental impact or damage to nearby agricultural areas,” the statement confirmed.
A video shared by the NOC showed a small stream of oil in the desert and a bulldozer working at the site of the leak. The corporation added that oil flow is being gradually restored between the two fields, with field teams continuing on-site monitoring to ensure pipeline integrity and prevent future leaks.
