Libya generated 79.4 billion Libyan dinars ($14.65 billion) in oil revenue during the first nine months of 2025, the Central Bank of Libya announced on Wednesday.
The oil sector remains the backbone of Libya’s economy, accounting for the vast majority of government income and export earnings. The central bank did not provide comparative figures for the same period last year or specify production volumes behind the revenue figures.
Libya, a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), has experienced periodic disruptions to oil production in recent years due to political instability and security challenges affecting key fields and export terminals.
