Richard Nii Armah Quaye, a Ghanaian billionaire and Founder and Board Chairman of Bills Micro Credit, is currently undergoing a personal income tax probe by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), a report by local media outlet, Citi Business News has revealed.

The probe concerns outstanding tax obligations, although the exact amount remains undisclosed.

This initiative forms part of the GRA’s routine efforts to ensure tax compliance among high-net-worth individuals. However, sources indicate that Quaye’s bank accounts have not been frozen, contrary to speculation circulating on social media.

In a formal statement, Bills Micro Credit Limited has distanced the company from Quaye’s private financial dealings, reiterating that it operates as a separate legal entity and does not fund or support the chairman’s personal acquisitions or social events.

The scrutiny of Quaye’s finances comes amid public discourse surrounding his wealth, particularly after his opulent 40th birthday celebration, which gained significant attention on social media.
