French superstar, Kylian Mbappe was on target for Real Madrid as they defeated Italian side, Atalanta, in their Uefa Supercup encounter.

 

Mbappe who was playing his debut match for Madrid, scored in the 68th minute to double Madrid’s lead in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

 

It was a dream start for Mbappe who joined Madrid from PSG this season.

 

After a goalless first half with some threats from Atalanta in the second half, Uruguayan, Fede Valverde, opened the score for Madrid in the 59th minute, thanks to Vinicius Junior’s brilliant assist.

 

Mbappe scored Madrid’s second and the game’s final goal of the night in the 68th minute. Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo all touched the ball to build Mbappe’s goal. The result means for the first time in his club career, Mbappe has been able to win a major European title.

 

Tonight’s victory marks Real Madrid’s sixth Supercup win in their club’s illustrious career.
