Kafui Danku-Pitcher Appointed CEO of Ghana’s National Film Authority

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed acclaimed filmmaker and entrepreneur Kafui Danku-Pitcher as the new CEO & Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) Ghana. With an impressive track record in creative arts, tourism, and economic development, her leadership is expected to usher in a transformative era for Ghana’s film industry.

 

A graduate of the University of Cape Coast with a BA in English and Classics, Madam Danku-Pitcher is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Ghana. Her extensive experience spans acting, filmmaking, and executive production at ABC Pictures Limited since 2013. She has also contributed to humanitarian efforts as a Repatriation Assistant with the UNHCR, showcasing her expertise in policy implementation, socio-economic research, and cultural diplomacy.

 

Beyond film, she has been a vocal advocate for social causes, leading initiatives like Silence Is Not Golden to empower women, campaigning against child marriage, and supporting children affected by malnutrition. Her commitment to leadership and governance has earned her recognition from the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and accolades such as Tourism Personality of the Year 2024 and Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneur’s Rising.

 

With her vision to establish industry standards, drive strategic policies, and foster partnerships, Madam Danku-Pitcher aims to elevate Ghana’s creative arts sector. As the new face of the NFA, she is set to empower industry practitioners and position Ghanaian cinema as a key contributor to national economic growth.
