The long-standing rivalry between Ja Rule and 50 Cent’s G-Unit camp took to the skies over the weekend, resulting in a tense shouting match between the “Mesmerize” artist and rappers Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda. The incident occurred on a Delta flight traveling from San Francisco to New York.
The Mid-Air Confrontation
Footage circulating on social media and TMZ shows a heated verbal exchange between Ja Rule (Jeffrey Atkins) and the G-Unit associates. According to reports, the cabin crew was forced to intervene after the disagreement escalated. While the flight eventually proceeded, the airline confirmed that one passenger was rebooked on a later flight to ensure the safety and comfort of others on board.
Uncle Murda (Leonard Grant) later shared video clips suggesting that Ja Rule was the one who exited the aircraft. “Ja got off the plane lol I took his seat,” Uncle Murda wrote on social media, accompanying the caption with a video showing himself and Tony Yayo stretching out in the now-empty rows.
Ja Rule’s Response: “These Clowns”
In a statement provided to TMZ, Ja Rule appeared unbothered by the incident, claiming he was the one who initiated the confrontation after spotting his rivals on the plane.
“These f—ing clowns…” Ja Rule said. “I saw them when I got on I was laughing like look at these two clowns lol they look like they saw a ghost deer in the headlights they always talking s— so I addressed them lol.”
Ja Rule’s remarks suggest that the G-Unit rappers were caught off guard by his presence, despite the public “trash talk” that has defined the relationship between the two camps for over two decades.
Airline and Procedural Details
A spokesperson for Delta Air Lines addressed the situation, stating that the cabin crew spoke to the customers involved following a disagreement. The airline confirmed that one individual successfully landed at the destination after being moved to a subsequent flight. No arrests were reported following the landing in New York.
Context of the Rivalry
The confrontation is the latest chapter in one of the most enduring feuds in hip-hop history. While the rivalry primarily exists between Ja Rule and 50 Cent, members of G-Unit like Tony Yayo have remained loyal participants in the dispute. The incident highlights that despite the passage of time, the animosity between the Murder Inc. and G-Unit legends remains highly volatile.
