Award-winning Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in the music circles as Shatta Wale has disclosed that he hasn’t smoked for the past 5 months.
The ‘Taking Over’ hitmaker, who is currently in Navrongo made this known during a conversation with some up-and- coming artistes in his hotel room, on his experiences in the music industry.
Among other advice, he cautioned them against using illegal substances. He shared that his life has significantly improved since he quit smoking. Shatta Wale admitted his fondness for marijuana but disclosed that he hasn’t indulged in it for the past five months.
This period of abstinence, he noted, has allowed him to think clearly, concentrate on his music, and enhance his reputation.

Shatta Wale is being a voice of reason as he advises an upcoming artist, whose drug use is negatively affecting him, to quit and fully focus on his career.
He added that although he smokes weed, he has been clean off the herb for the past five months.
The crooner urged his fellow artists to steer clear of tramadol and other harmful drugs, emphasizing their detrimental impact. He further encouraged artistes to prioritize their music and make constructive decisions for their personal and career development.
