Indiana Woman Arrested for Threats Against President Trump

An Indiana woman, Nathalie Rose Jones, 49, has been arrested and charged with making online death threats against President Donald Trump during a recent protest in Washington, D.C.

According to a Secret Service affidavit, Jones’s social media accounts began posting erratic commentary in early August, calling for the President’s arrest and removal from office. The documents state that Jones claimed she wanted to “avenge” lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, which she attributed to the Trump administration’s stance on vaccinations.

In a Facebook post on August 6, Jones allegedly wrote that she was willing to “sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him.” When interviewed by the Secret Service, Jones reportedly said she had access to a “bladed object” and would take the President’s life if given the opportunity.

The court filings also indicate that Jones has a history of mental illness, which she has acknowledged in her social media posts.
