Iga Świątek Makes History with Flawless Wimbledon Victory

On July 12, 2025, Iga Świątek etched her name into tennis history with a stunning 6-0, 6-0 victory over Amanda Anisimova in the Wimbledon women’s singles final, becoming only the second player in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam singles final without dropping a game. The Polish star completed the match in under an hour, marking the first such occurrence at Wimbledon since 1911 and only the second in the Open Era, following Steffi Graf’s 6-0, 6-0 win over Natasha Zvereva at the 1988 French Open, according to Opta.

Iga Świątek’s Grand Slam Titles

Świątek has now won six Grand Slam singles titles:

  • French Open: 4 titles (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024)

  • US Open: 1 title (2022)

  • Wimbledon: 1 title (2025)

This historic Wimbledon triumph further solidifies Świątek’s dominance in women’s tennis and her place among the sport’s all-time greats.
