British actor Idris Elba has shared his immense admiration for Lagos, Nigeria, labeling it “the most amazing city in the world.” The star expressed his affection for the city during an interview with eTalk TV on the red carpet at the TIFF Tribute Awards.
“There are so many memories. Lagos, if you have never been there, is the most amazing place, city in the world. I had a great time. The talent there is incredible,” Elba stated.
He recalled a particular highlight from his experience: working with legendary British singer Seal, born Henry Olusegun Samuel, in a film. Elba noted that Seal stepped into an acting role using his native Nigerian accent, which he described as a “real blessing.”
Elba also mentioned another memorable moment, which was the creation and performance of a song written specifically for the film. “One of the big standout moments is there is this really amazing song that we wrote for the film and they performed it at the end of the song. Seal and a lovely artiste called Konstance.”
