Heiress Dies from Insect Bite After Being Turned Away from Hospitals, Mother Claims

A 28-year-old heiress, Marissa Laimou, has tragically died from an insect bite after allegedly being refused admission by two London hospitals, according to claims made by her mother, Bessy.

Marissa, also known as Lemos, was found deceased in her bed on September 11 by her housekeeper. Her mother, speaking to Greek media, stated that Marissa had begun to feel unwell in the days prior, experiencing dizziness, itching, and a fever. A doctor who visited her at home prescribed paracetamol, but her condition did not improve.

She was subsequently sent by ambulance to a second hospital after seeing her oncologist. However, family and friends claim she was examined by nurses, not doctors, who concluded she did not need to be admitted. She was discharged with a diagnosis of an insect bite and a prescription for antibiotics. She was found lifeless the following day.

According to her mother, a toxic shock resulting from the insect bite was the cause of death. “My daughter had survived cancer and died from an insect,” Bessy said. “She was a girl with so many gifts, all of England is crying, all her doctors too.”

An autopsy is still pending, but the hospital involved has reportedly admitted that a serious mistake was made and has launched an internal investigation. Her aunt has stated that the family will not have answers until the post-mortem is complete.
