Former child star Tylor Chase, best known for his role as Martin Qwerly on the hit 2000s Nickelodeon show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, has been found living on the streets of Los Angeles.
A viral video captured in Riverside this past September showed the 36-year-old actor looking disheveled and struggling, a sight his former co-stars have described as “scary” and difficult to process.

The Viral Encounter
The footage, filmed by a fan, shows a woman asking Chase if he was a Disney Channel star. Chase corrected her, identifying himself as a Nickelodeon actor from Ned’s Declassified.
While the video sparked widespread sadness among fans on social media, it also raised concerns about the ethics of filming individuals during their most vulnerable moments.

Castmates React with Shock and Support
The core cast of the show—Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsey Shaw—addressed the news during an episode of their project, the Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide, on September 24.
- Daniel Curtis Lee expressed a mix of anger and helplessness: “When I first saw [the video], I was angry, because I was like, why put a camera on someone’s face in hard times? But then I was upset with myself because I feel powerless… I fully believe that he can recover.”
- Lindsey Shaw shared her emotional connection to her former colleague: “I would love to go speak with him and just love on him and look him in the eye. I miss Tylor, I love Tylor so, so much.”
- Devon Werkheiser noted the gravity of the situation: “It’s a lot to see… and even begin to have an idea of what to do about it.”
A Career Interrupted
Born in Arizona, Chase began his acting career as a teenager. Beyond his iconic role as the high-strung Martin Qwerly, he also made appearances in:
- Everybody Hates Chris (2005)
- Good Time Max (2008), directed by James Franco.
The news of his current situation has reignited conversations regarding the long-term well-being of former child actors and the lack of support systems within the entertainment industry for those who fall on hard times. Chase’s friends and fans remain hopeful that he can find the help and connection he needs to recover.
