Hands Across the World Launches with Heartfelt Donation to Ghanaian School, Pledges Brighter Future for African Youth

Cape Coast, Ghana – In a moving display of commitment to education and community development, the newly established non-governmental organization, *Hands Across the World*, officially launched its operations by donating a set of chairs and tables to St. Augustine’s Practice Junior High School (JHS) on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025. The donation marks the beginning of the NGO’s mission to empower African children, youth, and girls through practical initiatives aimed at improving educational opportunities and fostering long-term growth.

The event, held at the school premises, was attended by the school’s headmistress, Mrs. Cornwell, her assistant, the school’s compound prefect, a member of the Cape Coast Municipal Assembly, and representatives of Hands Across the World. The donation addresses the school’s longstanding challenges with inadequate infrastructure and aims to enhance the learning environment for its students.

“Education is the foundation for a brighter future, and we are proud to support schools like St. Augustine’s Practice JHS as part of our mission,” said Naphisa Ibrahim, Secretary General of Hands Across the World. “This is just the beginning of our journey to empower African youths and kids through practical, meaningful initiatives.”

Mrs. Cornwell, the school’s headmistress, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the staff and students. “We are deeply thankful to Hands Across the World for this thoughtful donation. It’s organizations like these that remind us of the power of community and the importance of investing in education,” she said.

The donation is the first step in what promises to be a lasting partnership between the NGO and the school, located in the OLA community of Cape Coast, Ghana. Hands Across the World has pledged to continue supporting St. Augustine’s Practice JHS and other communities through a series of upcoming projects focused on education, vocational training, youth leadership, and gender equality.

“This inaugural donation is a testament to our commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of African children and youth,” added Ibrahim. “We believe that by equipping them with the right tools and opportunities, we can unlock their full potential and create a more equitable future.”
