Suspected gunmen have allegedly attacked Chinese workers in Nigeria’s Edo State, killing eight security officials and kidnapping some Chinese.
Three of the Chinese have since been rescued, Nigerian authorities said
Authorities say the attack took place on Friday, September 5, 2025.
According to authorities,
a group of suspected armed kidnappers attacked a convoy of the paramilitary Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Chinese nationals working for local BUA Cement.
NSCDC spokesperson Afolabi Babawale told journalists that four Chinese workers who were kidnapped were rescued but one was missing.
He says eight operatives from the agency were killed and four were seriously injured.
