Ghana Ruling Party’s Spain Branch Lauds Government for Economic Management and “No-Academic-Fee” Initiative

 

The Spain Branch of Ghana’s ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has commended the Mahama-led government for its effective economic management and implementation of key campaign promises.

 

Speaking through the branch secretary, Hanson Dartey, the party expressed satisfaction with the government’s progress.

 

“No-Academic-Fee” Initiative

 

One notable initiative is the “No-Academic-Fee” policy, launched for the 2025 academic year. This policy aims to remove financial barriers to higher education, enabling students to pursue their academic goals without the burden of academic facility user fees.

The government has also achieved significant economic milestones, including:

 

$5 billion revenue: The Goldboard has accrued $5 billion in the first six months, demonstrating the government’s ability to manage the economy effectively.

Stabilization of the Ghanaian cedi: The influx of revenue has helped stabilize the Ghanaian cedi, providing a much-needed boost to the economy.

 

Delivering on Campaign Promises

 

The NDC Spain Branch noted that the Mahama-led government has delivered almost 70% of its campaign promises, demonstrating its commitment to transparency and accountability. Mr. Hanson Dartey praised the government’s efforts, saying that they are working hard to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
