Ghana: Ruling Party NDC Jabs Opposition NPP

Ghana’s ruling party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has thrown jabs at the country’s main opposition party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

At the NPP’s National Delegates Conference in Accra on Saturday, July 19, 2025, the NDC leadership said they were happy that NPP were “resetting” to help President John Dramani Mahama rebuild Ghana.

According to the NDC, the “reset” within the New Patriotic Party is a positive development for national unity and progress.

Ludwig Hlodze, the NDC’s Director of Logistics and Protocol, speaking at the NPP at the University of Ghana, says the “reset” within the NPP reflects a renewed focus on constructive engagement—one that aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s agenda to rebuild Ghana.

Hlodze highlighted the importance of political parties reassessing their strategies for the greater good of the nation. He expressed optimism about the NPP’s decision to do so.
The NPP’s conference, held under the theme “Rebuilding Together with Our Values,” has drawn widespread attention as a moment of introspection and reform following the party’s 2024 electoral loss.
