Ghana has secured a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a crucial 1-0 victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening, October 12, 2025.
The Black Stars delivered a much-needed home win to confirm their qualification for the tournament, which will be hosted across Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
Mohammed Kudus scored early in the second half, lifting Ghana to 25 points at the top of Group I and sealing their place at the World Cup.
Even without the win, Ghana would have qualified, as their closest rivals Madagascar suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Mali. Madagascar finished second in the group with 19 points, while Mali placed third with 18.
This marks Ghana’s fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, having previously featured in the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 editions.
