The Office of Ghana’s Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations has urged religious leaders to formally submit any prophecy or spiritual insight of national importance for urgent government review.
The directive, announced in a statement dated Sunday, August 10, 2025, follows the August 6 helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region that killed eight people, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed.
The statement, issued by Presidential Envoy Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, said the directive applies to prophecies concerning high-profile political leaders, governance, national security, or public stability. It aims to ensure “responsibility, discernment, and proper stewardship over the nation’s destiny” during this period of uncertainty.
The Office also appealed for prayers for President John Dramani Mahama, the government, state institutions, bereaved families, and the nation at large.
The appeal comes as a video of Ghanaian pastor Samuel Henry, known as Prophet Roja, resurfaces online. In an interview on Accra-based Angel TV earlier this year, Prophet Roja claimed God had revealed to him that a domestic flight from Accra to Kumasi would crash. He described the vision as a “conditional prophecy” and urged nationwide prayer to avert the tragedy.
Prophet Roja stated in the interview prior to the deadly helicopter crash that “God is speaking to me right now, on the 29th of July, 2025. Please record this. Let all Christians in Ghana pray. This is a conditional prophecy. What I am seeing is that there is going to be a plane crash. I see a plane mid-air, and then it suddenly crashes. When it crashes, the number of survivors is up to 25. It is traveling from Accra to Kumasi.”
The government reaffirmed its commitment to working with faith leaders for Ghana’s peace and prosperity.
