Ghana Police Place GH¢50,000 Reward on Alleged Nkaseim Robbery Gang Leader

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GH¢50,000 bounty for information leading to the arrest of a suspected armed robbery kingpin believed to be behind a string of coordinated attacks in the Nkaseim area of the Ahafo Region.

In a statement released on Sunday, February 1, 2026, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) identified the suspect as Hoyeefi, who has now been declared wanted for his alleged role in multiple violent robberies carried out in December last year.

According to the police, investigations have revealed that Hoyeefi is the leader of the robbery gang responsible for the attacks, which took place on December 2, 2025, and targeted key security and commercial locations within Nkaseim and its environs.

Arrested Suspects

Targets of Coordinated Attacks

The CID disclosed that the gang carried out simultaneous or closely timed attacks on several locations, including the Nkaseim Police Station, the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and areas around the Asutifi Rural Bank. The incidents reportedly caused widespread fear among residents and raised concerns about the safety of financial institutions and businesses operating in the area.

Although the police did not immediately disclose details of losses recorded during the attacks, the scale and coordination of the operations pointed to a well-organized criminal network, prompting intensified investigations.

Manhunt Underway

The police said intelligence-led operations are ongoing to track down Hoyeefi and dismantle the gang. As part of efforts to encourage public cooperation, the GH¢50,000 reward has been offered to any individual who provides credible information that directly leads to the suspect’s arrest.

“The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous, and members of the public are advised not to confront him,” the CID warned.

Instead, residents and anyone with information on Hoyeefi’s whereabouts have been urged to report immediately to the nearest police station.

Emergency Lines Open to the Public

The police also reminded the public that tips can be submitted through dedicated emergency lines, including 191, 18555, and 112. The service assured informants that all information will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Security analysts say public cooperation has become increasingly critical in addressing organized robbery and violent crime, particularly in areas where criminal groups exploit local knowledge and terrain to evade arrest.

Renewed Focus on Community Security

The Nkaseim attacks have renewed calls for enhanced security presence and intelligence gathering across parts of the Ahafo Region. Residents have expressed concern about the targeting of police facilities and financial institutions, describing the attacks as a direct challenge to law enforcement authority.

The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to bringing all those involved to justice and restoring confidence in public safety. Authorities say further updates will be provided as investigations progress.

In the meantime, residents have been advised to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to security agencies as the manhunt for the suspect continues.
