Ghana’s Sakumono District Police Command has arrested Ghanaian men over the alleged killing of a 26-year-old Liberian man named Austin Tengeeh.
Ghana News Agency (GNA), the state-owned media outlet, reported that the suspects who are currently in police custody are Francis Amuzu, 44 years; William Adison, 36 years; and Vincent Adzikah, 34 years.
A police situational report says the Sakumono District Patrol Team received a distress call from an unidentified individual reporting that a man had been attacked and severely beaten by a group of irate persons near ECG, Lashibi, on Friday, February 27, 2026.
The District Patrol Team immediately proceeded to the scene, according to reports.
On arrival, officers found a young man identified as Austin Tengeeh, aged 26, a Liberian national, lying unconscious with visible marks of assault around his neck and head.
Investigations indicate that the mob allegedly mistook the victim for a thief.
The victim was promptly conveyed to the Sakumono Community Hospital for medical attention, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Sakumono Community Hospital as the necessary diplomatic protocols are being followed.
