Police and military personnel in the Upper West Region of Ghana have arrested 10 persons for alleged armed robbery and kidnapping.
The Ghana Police Service announced the arrests in a statement dated Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
According to the statement, “On Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 2:00pm, Police received report of a group of armed young men attacking road users around Kendeu community in the Wa West District, robbing money and other valuables.”
It says “The attackers had also assaulted some market women who were traveling along the route.”
The statement pointed out that a combined team of police and military personnel were immediately deployed to the area, leading to the arrest of 10 suspects, while others fled.
It added that the operation led to the retrieval of five locally manufactured guns, 25 AA live cartridges, two spent cartridges, two knives, and several spiritual talismans.
Abductions
It said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had earlier abducted two victims, identified as John Gaan and Dari Moses Dondomor, who, together with their properties are yet to be found, adding that “The Police are in touch with the complainants, who are assisting in investigation.”
According to the statement, “The arrested suspects are in custody and all exhibits retained.”
