The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred its Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, to the National Disciplinary Committee over alleged acts of misconduct.
In a petition submitted by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party accused Mr. Baffoe of conduct it described as “unbecoming of a member” and “gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the organisation.”
Among the key allegations are:
• Defamation of a senior member: Mr. Baffoe is accused of making disparaging remarks against Kennedy Agyapong, including a claim that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.”
• False claims against the General Secretary: He allegedly accused Mr. Kodua of concealing a report recommending the expulsion of Mr. Agyapong — accusations the party described as “false, malicious, and injurious.”
• Misrepresentation of committee findings: The petition also accuses him of breaching confidentiality by disclosing and distorting the contents of a disciplinary committee report, thereby undermining its authority.
The party has asked the Disciplinary Committee to conduct a thorough and impartial inquiry into the matter and recommend appropriate sanctions in accordance with the NPP constitution.
The petition stressed that accountability is “non-negotiable” in safeguarding the party’s unity, integrity, and credibility.
“The leadership remains committed to fairness, discipline, and the protection of the Party’s democratic values,” Mr. Kodua affirmed.
