Ghana: Managing Shatta Wale Was the Toughest Experience of My Career- Bullgod

Artiste manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, widely known as Bullgod, has disclosed that dancehall star Shatta Wale was the most difficult artiste he has ever managed.

In an interview with George Quaye on Joy Prime on Wednesday, October 1, Bullgod revealed that working with Shatta Wale presented countless challenges that nearly cost him both personal and professional relationships.

“The most difficult management ever? Oh, it would be Shatta Wale,” Bullgod admitted. “For him, I nearly made enemies with everybody that I had built a relationship with along the way.”

He explained that Wale’s outspoken nature and frequent controversies often created tensions with industry stakeholders and media houses. “You did Joy FM, you did YFM, you did Peace FM — everywhere he went, he would talk and start another fire,” Bullgod said. “At that time, I was also working with Charterhouse, and if your artiste insults your boss and his wife, you can imagine the feeling. It wasn’t easy at all.”

Although he described the experience as tormenting, Bullgod noted that managing Shatta Wale ultimately became a test of patience and resilience. “It wasn’t easy… but I think it was a test for me, and I’m hoping I did well with the test,” he added.

Shatta Wale, known for his dominance in Ghana’s music scene as well as his controversial persona, shared one of the industry’s most talked-about artiste-manager relationships with Bullgod — a partnership often regarded as both turbulent and impactful.
