A pro-New Patriotic Party pressure group based in Koforidua, the Eastern Vultures, has expressed concern over the arrest and detention of former National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) Chief Executive Officer, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, by the National Intelligence Bureau.
In a press statement dated February 11, 2026, and signed by its Convener and Chairman, David Prah, the group described the development as troubling and urged authorities to ensure transparency and strict adherence to the rule of law.
Mr. Ofosu Nkansah previously served as CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, a government initiative focused on supporting entrepreneurship and youth-led enterprises. The Eastern Vultures argue that his detention raises broader concerns about fairness and the independence of state institutions.
“We are deeply concerned about the circumstances surrounding the arrest,” the statement noted. “State institutions must operate within the framework of the law and avoid actions that could create the perception of political bias.”
Rather than calling for confrontation, the group is urging the appropriate authorities to either formally charge Mr. Ofosu Nkansah in accordance with the law or release him if there are no grounds for continued detention.
The group emphasized the need for democratic principles to be upheld and cautioned against actions that may heighten political tensions.
At the time of this report, the National Intelligence Bureau has not publicly outlined the specific grounds for the arrest.
