Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama says he will not take any disciplinary action against the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) Sammy Gyamfi over the controversial dollar gift saga.

Gyamfi came under fire for openly donating dollars to controversial Ghanaian spiritual leader and former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist, Patricia Oduro Koranteng, widely known as Nana Agradaa.
There have been mixed reactions to the donation issue, with a section of the public defending Gyamfi while others are criticizing him.
The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) had called on President Mahama to take tough actions against Sammy Gyamfi. Civil society groups have also called for his dismissal, arguing that his conduct undermined public trust and violated the standards expected of a government official.

However, President Mahama has decided to accept Mr. Gyamfi’s public apology and bring the matter to a close — albeit with a stern warning.

According to him, President Mahama has accepted the apology from Mr. Sammy Gyamfi.
He said President Mahama noted that while the incident is regrettable, no further action will be taken.

However, a firm warning has been issued to Mr. Gyamfi and all public appointees to strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct and act at all times in a manner that upholds public confidence.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu stressed the President’s commitment to accountability and ethical governance but noted that the current situation did not warrant Gyamfi’s removal.
