The Ghanaian government has joined many other governments and multilateral organizations around the world including the United Nations and African Union to unequivocally condemn Israel’s “unprovoked attack on Qatar.”
In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Government of Ghana said it learnt with deep concern the unprovoked Israeli attack on the Sovereign State of Qatar “resulting in casualties, loss of lives and properties.”
According to the statement, “the Government of Ghana condemns the attack in view of the fact that the airstrikes constitute a clear violation of international law and an affront to the sovereignty of the State of Qatar.”
The statement added that “This attack undermines the ongoing pursuit of peace between the State of Palestine and Israel.”
It noted that the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama “stands in solidarity with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad AI Thani and the people of Qatar in these difficult times.”
