Fulham Football Club marked Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary with a vibrant and inclusive celebration at their Motspur Park training ground in London.
The Premier League club shared a video on its official social media account, showcasing players and staff engaging in music, dancing, and traditional displays to commemorate the special occasion. The event featured green and white decorations inspired by the Nigerian flag, celebratory cupcakes, and Nigerian-themed attire worn by staff and participants, all emphasizing unity and cultural pride.
Music and Dance at Motspur Park
The atmosphere was energized by a mix of Afrobeats and Highlife music provided by DJ Semss. The soundtrack featured iconic Nigerian hits, including P-Square’s Beautiful Onyinye, Tekno’s Pana, and Fido’s Joy is Coming, encouraging everyone to join in the festivities.
Fulham’s Nigerian contingent, including stars like Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, took center stage. They were joined by other teammates, such as Malian international Adama Traore, as players blended the club’s professional identity with a joyous celebration of Nigerian cultural heritage, engaging in traditional dances and blending cultures.
