The world football governing body, FIFA, has unveiled the full list of nominees for the 2025 FIFA Best Player Awards. The shortlist recognizes the top individuals who have elevated football to new heights over the past year.
Voting is now open to fans, journalists, and national team coaches and captains from FIFA’s 211 member associations, with the process set to close on November 28.

The Men’s Shortlist
The men’s category features a mix of established megastars and breakout young talents from the world’s top leagues:

The Voting Process
FIFA confirmed that this year’s awards will celebrate individuals and teams who have pushed the sport’s boundaries, particularly following the expanded FIFA Club World Cup tournament in the United States.
The final results will be determined through an equal voting system, with the final tally split into four equal parts:
- 25% from Fans (via online public vote)
- 25% from Journalists
- 25% from National Team Coaches
- 25% from National Team Captains
Voting is open for all categories, including Best Player, Best Coach, and Best Goalkeeper for both men and women. Winners will be revealed later this year at a grand awards ceremony.
