Fidelity Bank Ghana has announced a contribution of GHS 500,000 to the government fund established to support the families of the eight distinguished Ghanaians who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025. This donation highlights the bank’s commitment to national solidarity and compassion during a time of collective grief. The fund, announced by President John Dramani Mahama, is dedicated to securing the future and welfare of the deceased’s children.
A delegation from the bank, led by Kwabena Boateng, Deputy Managing Director of Wholesale Banking, along with John-Paul Taabavi and Adeline Aryee, presented the cheque to Chief of Staff Julius Debrah at Jubilee House on Friday, August 22, 2025.
During the presentation, Mr. Boateng expressed the bank’s heartfelt condolences and emphasized the importance of unity in times of national tragedy, stating, “This is a moment that calls for national unity and support for one another.” He added that the bank, as a Ghanaian institution, considered it of utmost importance to provide tangible support for the families of these “men of honour and service,” hoping the contribution would “secure the future of their children.” In his response, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah welcomed the gesture and assured the delegation that the funds would be directed to the children for their well-being and education.
Fidelity Bank’s action highlights the critical role of corporate institutions in nation-building, especially during moments of adversity, as the bank remains committed to initiatives that strengthen communities and foster resilience across Ghana.
