Former President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has met with the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio.
The meeting between the two took place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the State House in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone.
President Bio says he and Madam Sirleaf “had a productive meeting”.
According to him, “During our discussion, she confidently congratulated me on my recent election as Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, underscoring the vital role of collaborative leadership in driving our regional goals forward.”
Liberia and Sierra Leone are neighboring countries and share a bitter history of wars, corruption and poverty.
