DLO African Women in Leadership Summit Partners with Making of a Mogul for 2025 Edition

The DLO African Women in Leadership (AWIL) Summit, a flagship event advancing women’s leadership across Africa, has announced a partnership with iFactoryLive’s docu-reality series Making of a Mogul for its 2025 edition, set for August 2, 2025, in Johannesburg. The collaboration will include the AWIL Summit and the signature AWIL Brunch, amplifying the event’s mission to empower women leaders.

Now in its third year, the AWIL Summit is a premier platform for women in political, economic, and creative sectors, focusing on actionable outcomes through tools, access, and networks. Past partners include KPMG, and the summit has convened changemakers from across Africa and the diaspora. The 2025 theme, “Connecting Capital to Opportunity,” emphasizes bridging the gap between women-led businesses and funding in an era driven by AI, innovation, and finance.

AWIL Brunch: Where Culture Meets Capital

The AWIL Brunch, a prelude to the Summit, celebrates Africa’s creative economy, spotlighting women in culture, design, media, architecture, and tech. Guests will experience curated conversations, artistic showcases, and cross-industry networking in a vibrant, high-energy environment.

Strategic Partnership with Making of a Mogul

The partnership with Making of a Mogul, a global docu-reality series chronicling entrepreneurs of colour, will amplify AWIL’s reach across TV, digital, and outdoor platforms. Filfilmed across South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Dubai, the UK, and the USA, the series, streaming on Tubi and Amazon Prime, showcases entrepreneurs with a combined annual revenue of over $500 million. The collaboration will also enrich the Summit’s speaker lineup with global leaders from fashion, finance, government, and tech.

Linda Mabhena-Olagunju, founder of DLO and creator of the AWIL Summit, said: “This partnership with Making of a Mogul is a timely and exciting alignment. It allows us to bridge continents, experiences, and expertise. Together, we are building an ecosystem that connects women to capital, creativity, and the confidence to lead on their own terms.”

Michael Djaba, creator of Making of a Mogul and founder of iFactoryLive, added: “Linda has built a world-class summit that is solution-driven and deeply impactful. The AWIL Summit echoes the very ethos of Mogul—resilience, innovation, and transformation. We’re thrilled to bring our global platform and experience to amplify this powerful movement.”
