Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a $100m lawsuit against NBC, Peacock, and production company Ample over a documentary about his life, which he claims features untrue and defamatory statements. The lawsuit alleges that the documentary, “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy”, maliciously accuses Combs of committing heinous crimes, including serial murder, rape of minors, and sex trafficking.
Combs’ lawyer, Erica Wolff, stated that the defendants “made a conscious decision to line their own pockets at the expense of truth, decency, and basic standards of professional journalism”. The lawsuit claims that the documentary’s makers “knew were false or published with reckless disregard as to whether they were false or not”.
The lawsuit seeks $100m in damages for the “reputational and economic harm” caused by the documentary. Combs is currently in a New York jail awaiting a federal criminal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which he denies.
The lawsuit is the latest development in a series of allegations against Combs, including accusations of kidnapping, drugging, and coercing women into sexual activities. Combs has consistently denied the allegations and has pleaded not guilty to the criminal charges.
