American music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been jailed for four years, two months following his conviction on two prostitution charges.

He avoided a lengthier prison sentence after his acquittal on more serious charges.

His sentencing hearing was held on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Diddy, aged 54, was found guilty in July this year of two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution following an eight-week trial. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, which could have carried a life sentence.

Judge Arun Subramanian while handing down the verdict, noted that the court had seen “massive” amounts of evidence against Combs and a significant sentence was required.

The sentencing came after Diddy earlier wrote an apology letter to the judge in which he also apologized to his victims.

In the letter, Diddy described his actions as “disgusting, shameful and sick”, saying that his time in prison has reformed him from a bad person to a good man.

Judge Subramanian commended Diddy’s ex-girlfriend and one of the complainant, Cassie Venture and the other victim known as Jane Doe who is also said to be an ex-lover of Diddy. The judge described Cassie and Jane Doe as “strong women” who were willing to come forward and tell their stories.

According to him, they have “been through abuse most of us can’t imagine.”

Judge Subramanian told Cassie and Jane Doe that “We heard you,” adding “I am proud of you for coming to the court to tell what really happened.”

The judge then turned to Diddy, telling him that just as he had the power to hurt Cassie, Jane Doe and other victims, he also had the power to help them by using his “megaphone”.

Prosecutors had called for Diddy to be jailed for at least 11 years while his lawyers urged the court to jail him for at least 14 months.
