Governor Ademola Adeleke, the politician uncle of Nigerian afrobeats superstar, Davido, has resigned from Nigeria’s main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing leadership crisis within the Party as the basis for his resignation.Â
In his resignation letter dated November 4, 2025, Governor Adeleke who is always seen dancing to Davido’s songs at events, said “due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign any membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.”
He said “I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
The PDP has in recent times been hit with crisis, resulting in several defections.
