Davido Meets President Kagame Ahead of Giants of Africa Closing Concert

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adedeji Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has met with the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, ahead of the Giants of Africa Festival Closing Concert.

 

Davido is in Rwanda to perform at the Giants of Africa Festival Closing Concert which will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The closing concert will take place at the BK Arena, the hub of sports and entertainment in Rwanda from 2:30pm to 6pm Eastern African Time.

 

 

His meeting with President Kagame took place on Friday, August 18, at the Urugwiro Village in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.

 

​​The Giants of Africa Festival, a week-long basketball camp and tournament with about 250+ youth participants from across 16 African countries, is ending with a Closing Concert featuring an incredible lineup of internationally acclaimed artists and performers.

 

Davido, fresh off the success of his fourth studio album titled, ‘Timeless’ will grace the stage. Joining Davido is Nigerian afrobeats queen, Tiwa Savage.

 

Also performing at the Closing Concert is Rwanda’s own Bruce Melodie, a gifted singer-songwriter known for his soulful melodies, and Tyla, a rising star selected as one of Spotify’s emerging artists as part of their RADAR program.

 

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Giants of Africa. The week-long celebration in 2023 is using basketball as a tool to educate and empower African youth to dream big.
